Jesus: Encountered. Loved. Served. Shared. is a simple discipleship pathway that describes how our relationship with Christ grows and overflows into the lives of others.
Encountered – We first encounter Jesus through prayer, the Scriptures, the sacraments, the Mass, and the people He places in our lives. An encounter with Christ invites us into a personal relationship with Him.
Loved – As we come to know Jesus, we experience His unconditional love and mercy. We are reminded that we are God's beloved children, forgiven, accepted, and called to holiness.
Served – Jesus calls us to put His love into action. We serve God by using our gifts to care for our parish, our neighbors, and those in need, following Christ's example of humble service.
Shared – The love of Christ is not meant to be kept to ourselves. We are sent to share the Good News through our words, our actions, and the way we live, inviting others to encounter Jesus and become His disciples.
Together, these four words describe the lifelong journey of Christian discipleship:
Encounter Jesus. Experience His love. Serve others in His name. Share His hope with the world.
This framework also reflects the mission of many Catholic parishes: to help people encounter Christ, grow as disciples, serve with joy, and evangelize by sharing the Gospel.
