Fourth Sunday of Lent
March 15th, John 9:1-41
Lord, you are of course "the light of the world."
But you are also the light that illumines my heart and my life. Is there some corner of my heart, some part of my life, that is most in need of you and the light that you are for me?
Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 16th, John 4:43-54
That royal official believed-before-he-saw. He believed simply because you spoke. I want to have that kind of trust, that kind of confidence, in you.
Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 17th, John 5:1-16
Lord, I want to be well! Be my Divine Physician in just that place where I most need your healing and your help!
Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 18th, John 5:17-30
Wherever you and the Father are at work in me right now, Lord, I don't want to be "in the way."
But I would like to help, if I can. Can I cooperate with you in the work that you're doing?
Thursday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 19th, Matthew 1:16, 18-21, 24a
Special Gospel - Feast of St. Joseph
I'm not satisfied to just read about your birth, Jesus. Make your Bethlehem in me today.
Make the poor straw of my heart your manger
right now. I want you to live in me.
Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 20th, John 7:1-2,10,25-30
I can't fathom your courage, Lord: Everywhere you went there were people who didn't just want to shut you up or isolate you. They wanted you dead. What kind of follower of you AM I?
Saturday of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 21st, John 7:40-53
Again, Jesus, I'm left wondering how I would have moved through these days if I had been one your company. I'm shaking my head at the quiet heroism of the guards and Nicodemus. Please give me comparable courage to speak up for you when given the opportunity.
